In the upcoming 2016 election, there are several familiar names back in the running. On the Republican side, the candidates include: Jeb Bush, Dr. Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Donald Trump. On the Democratic side candidates include: Hilary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O’Malley. Some of the hot issues up for debate include firearm regulation, immigration reform, education reform, and healthcare reform.

The full list of possible 2016 candidates in quite lengthy, but there are several noteworthy candidates who are ahead of others. The powerful U.S. political families such as Bush, Trump and Clinton all have their names in the running to become the next President of the United States. These are well connected people with very strong political power and advertising potential.

Most of the candidates will have difficulty comparing their political careers to that of former former Secretary of State, First Lady, and New York Senator Hillary Clinton. Her career in politics trumps most of the other politicians running for president. Others with strong political ties are Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz.

The politicians will pour millions of dollars into advertising to get nominated for the job which pays approximately 400,000 dollars annually. Many North Eugene students will be able to vote in the next elections and they can use their voice to make a difference. Some issues that North students care about are education and college affordably.

North Eugene students did like some of the democratic candidates and weren’t familiar with many or all of the republican candidates. North student Jesse Welch said, “I don’t support Donald Trump… I don’t support democrats.” Many North student find some candidates unrelatable such a Trump due to Trump being unlike most high school students.
